The Mirror of Life

Mirrors play a fundamental role in our existence especially in the realm of spiritual growth. When we see our reflection, it serves as a powerful reminder of our true identity until we fully grasp the essence of life and the intricate truths of our very core being. In my belief, mirrors are gifts from God and the universe. They give us the opportunity to better understand ourselves, leading us to personal growth and self-discovery. We must use them wisely to avoid distortion. If a mirror starts to redefine our lives through cultural lenses, it is essential for us to proceed with caution - this is a critical moment for reflection and potential reversal or redirection. The truth is, we can recognize our souls, our own beings without the need for a mirror's reflection. To continuously discover oneself as a non-identified unknown self, the higher self can be the ultimate mirror to oneself with truth and peace in the heart center place. This exhibition showcases a collection of images that illustrate how light and shadow intertwine and dance alongside us. These pieces were thoughtfully curated from various chapters of my journeys through several cities, places that have shaped me into who I have become. I am truly grateful for my lens; it enables me to perceive the world with clarity, unfiltered and without any judgments.

Remember Me Or Not

Life is characterized by dramatic shifts, marked by both highs and lows. We inhabit many places and encounter numerous individuals, each leaving an indelible impact on us. These memories eventually fade, overshadowed by new experiences and moments. Still, there remains a sacred space in our hearts where we feel unburdened, allowing us to question: Why do I still hold onto certain memories and the people associated with them? Do they remember me? Those faces and gestures seem intertwined with unforgettable sounds and scents, resonating with life’s vitality. Recognizing that this is a transformative period, our awareness and self-discovery often emerge when we come to terms with the loneliness that has cornered us for so long. We remember who we once were, shaping who we are today and move onto who we become. Ultimately, we live with profound love in our hearts. 

My Manhattan Diary 

Like a vivid dream, there came a day when I became a New Yorker and started studying digital media and photography at the International Center of Photography (ICP). I often reflect on the moment I first picked up my Canon 5D and started taking photos every day. It was a revelation, both in my growing fascination with this new digital camera and in the remarkable images I was capturing. Life transformed into something far more interesting than I had anticipated. When passion and energy ignite within us, it creates an exhilarating chaos that feels liberating. Even during that time, I sometimes feared losing sight of my identity - where I came from or where I was headed. All I clearly recall is running around New York City with my camera, exploring and creating my new life like a child, captivated by the world around me. I am deeply thankful for that enchanted experience, a most cherished chapter in my life that only my heart knows, which had molded me in a naturally spiritual way.
